"I'm not beautiful", "All you see is my belly", "Will they like me?", "I have no shape, no one will want me"...

All these negative remarks are part of the daily lives of a large majority of women today. According to a 2017 survey, about 89% of women do not find themselves pretty. A percentage caused by the dictates of beauty that make more and more women complex. When you consider that only 1 woman in 40,000 meets the beauty criteria required for the Miss Universe contest, there is enough to complex... Nowadays, loving your physique has become a challenge.

If you are in this situation, this article is here to help you feel better! Perhaps you have already heard about the movement Body Positive? It is THE movement that everyone talks about on social networks. Its goal: To ensure that women accept themselves as they are and learn to love themselves.

At Les Poulettes, Positive Body is an important value. We would like to make all women understand that they are beautiful so that they can gain self-confidence. Following a survey on Instagram, we found that many of you did not accept yourself. That's why we launched the challenge #jesuismoietjassume which consists of posting a photo on social networks, in legging-braces. The purpose of this challenge is to promote self-acceptance and to take full responsibility for oneself.

Don't compare yourself, be in agreement with yourself

The basic rule: do not not compare to others. Looking at others, envying them, thinking they are better than you, is one of the best ways to feel complex. Don't try to look like someone else, be in agreement with yourself. Don't sink any further, you are what you are, you are very well like that. When you compare yourself to others, you may accentuate your negative outlook on yourself. Keep in mind that everyone is different. We all have a different morphology, it is impossible to look like another person. Be kind to yourself, cherish yourself, love yourself.

Try to see your little flaws differently: take responsibility

This point can be difficult for some, but it is essential. Learn to look at yourself, observe your body, its assets, its faults. Focus on what you love, don't be critical. If you don't like something about yourself, try to find a positive aspect to this little flaw. Avoid fixing your complexes, transform your differences into assets. Don't imagine that your defects are considered as such by others. Learn to love yourself, assume who you are. Gradually tame your little flaws, they are part of you. You will see that by enjoying life and loving your body, you will flourish and you will be able to see things differently, without having to change your appearance.

Set yourself goals

If you really don't like your body, try to change things but do it for you, not for others. To do this, set yourself achievable goals: whether in sport, at work, in life in general, take on personal challenges. Small daily victories will help you feel better and make you proud. Have a Positive attitude: Live simply, without any headache

To be good in your body, you have to be good in your head.The mind is stronger than anything! So don't worry, just live, and above all keep the positive attitude. Do yoga, meditation, take a bath, find an activity that takes your mind off things and makes you feel good: cooking, drawing, music, sports, writing, reading, series... There are many ways to clear your mind.
Get rid of your negative ideas and turn them into positive ones. Try to see things differently, the important thing is that you feel good inside. Don't dwell on what doesn't really matter, but focus on what makes you happy, what makes you smile. Once you can think like this, everything will be better.

Don't live in the past: the body changes, so do you

An effective way to feel bad is to live in the past and be nostalgic about that bikini you wore in high school... Big mistake. Over time, the appearance changes and there is nothing more normal, you will not always have the body of your 20 years. Your body is getting older, your body is changing, but the most important thing is that you keep the fishing mentally. Know that you too have changed with your body, you are necessarily more mature than before, you have gained experience and your body is the proof: this is not bad, you should not be afraid of it.

Don't listen to judgments

Some people are bad and think they are better than everyone else. Their words don't matter, don't listen to them and focus on yourself. You are master of your body, it is yours alone, it belongs to you. The others don't live in your shoes, they have no right to judge you. On the other hand, you also have to learn to accept constructive criticism: listens to advice people who are kind to you. Hold them back and make sure they are applied. Ask for help

If you don't feel good in your body, in your mind and think you've tried everything to overcome your pain, don't despair, you are not alone. Don't feel ashamed to ask for help, whether from friends, family or professionals, no one will judge you, quite the contrary! People who love you or professionals will be happy to be there for you and will help you feel better about your body. Talk, open up, explain what's wrong. Sometimes being alone is not the solution to find answers to your problems. Hearing orally what it takes to get better or what people around you think can help to build self-confidence. Don't give up. Don't give up. Compliment yourself, compliment others, never compare yourself.
